Open up Your Heavens Lord
On a dark and dreary day, I found a dyin' man.
I knelt down beside him and I held his trembling hand.
He felt cold his pulse was week,
He only had a while.
But just before he spoke his last, he raised his head and smiled.
He said,
Open up your heavens Lord, my work here is done.
I did everything you asked me,
now the devil's on the run.
This life may be over,
But my new life's just begun.
So, Open up your heavens, here I come.
Instrumental
From the clouds I heard a rumble,
Then the sun came shining through.
Buy the time his last breath left him,
The skies had all turned blue.
His peaceful smile became the look,
forever in my mind.
And the way he spoke his last words is the comfort that I find.
He said,
Open up your heavens Lord, my work
here is done.
I did everything you asked me,
now the devil's on the run.
This life may be over,
But my new life's just begun.
So, Open up your heavens, here I come.
