It started out so sticky sweet, so alive,
Honey on juice on molasses, fruit on the vine.
Caught a glimpse then smiled its way
Through the door, through the door.
It's time to go, he said, but he wanted more.
No one wants to be asking for too much.
The glimpse turned into a smile and into a touch.
Laughed themselves right through the floor
And the one below, the one below.
